For more than 15 years, Dr. Arthur Burnett served as a visiting professor at The University of the West Indies, contributing to urology training programs in Trinidad and Jamaica. Recognizing critical gaps in urologic education and clinical capacity throughout the Caribbean, Dr. Burnett began dedicating more of his time to the islands, volunteering to provide cognitive and technical skill development, conduct grand rounds on complex patient cases, perform highly specialized surgical procedures unavailable locally, guide research protocol development, and mentor both urology residents in training and practicing physicians.
In 2017, Dr. Burnett formally established UroMissionsWorks, Inc., a tax-exempt, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization to continue and expand this life-changing work across the Caribbean, Africa, and South America.
