By giving them access to advanced training, specialized mentorship, and exposure to the highest standards of urologic practice early in their careers, we help set a trajectory that benefits their patients for decades.

Our Story

UroMissionsWorks exists because one physician – Dr. Arthur L. Burnett, II – looked at the urologic healthcare landscape in the Caribbean and saw not just a need, but an opportunity. An opportunity to leverage the expertise of skilled, committed physicians to build something that would outlast any single visit or any single procedure.

Over more than 15 years of visiting professor activities at the University of the West Indies and beyond, Dr. Burnett saw the difference that sustained, high-quality mentorship made in the careers of the residents he worked with and in the patients they went on to treat. UroMissionsWorks was founded to formalize and scale that difference.

Today, the organization’s footprint spans the Caribbean, West Africa, and South and Central America, with ongoing efforts to expand partnerships, recruit additional volunteer surgeons, and deepen the training programs already underway. The future of urologic healthcare in these regions is being shaped right now. Your investment helps shape it in the right direction.
